Planning Meeting Has been Changed
Because of the need to get Super Bowl tickets in and get organized for the fund raiser, we have moved the planning meeting back one week to Feb 8th.
Campmor Equipment Order
We are putting together an equipment order from Campmor. We get a 10% discount and pay no sales tax if we order as a troop. We prorate the shipping costs among everyone who orders. Check out their on-line catalog at www.campmor.com. Email Mr. Warren with Item #, size, quantity, color, etc. Pay when you pick up your order. We will place the order on Feb 16th.
Message from the McAdams Family
As most of you know, Richard and I are in the process of a long adoption from China. This Feb. 10 will make three years, (so far), that we have waited! We are in the process now of updating our paperwork....again! I am so excited to announce our new online coffee store to help raise funds for our China trip! Thanks to Webb Coffee, here in Murfreesboro, we are able to raise $5 for every bag of coffee sold through our website. Don't like coffee? No problem! They have mugs, t-shirts, hats, totes, etc! Super Bowl Barbeque Fund Raiser
We are coming down to the wire – our success depends for the most part on how much we sell in advance, because we will not cook a great deal extra. Please sell as much as possible by our next troop meeting on Monday, Feb 1st. Tell your customers that they need to buy a ticket in order to make sure they will get their order. You can collect their money when you fill out the ticket or they can pay you when they pick up their order on Feb. 7th. Each scout is encouraged to sell at least 5 orders. Top salesman wins a $165 campership. In addition, for each $10 you sell, you will have a ticket placed in the hat for a drawing for a $100 gift certificate at the store of your choice. Be prepared to sign up to help at the next troop meeting. We will be cooking on Friday and Saturday and will need plenty of help on Sunday to make up orders and collect money.
Scout Sunday
Note the date change to Feb 14 for Scout Sunday at St. Mark's. Yes, this is Mother's Day and hopefully you have something special planned for your mom. Traditionally, Troop 398 participates in both services at St. Mark's. Most members of our troop attend other churches, but I think it's important for as many of us as possible to attend one of the services to show our appreciation for the support St. Mark's gives our troop throughout the year. The early service begins at 8:30 AM and the late service begins at 11:00 AM. Hopefully, you can attend one service at St. Mark's and still make it to your own church. Please put this important date on your calendar.
Laser Tag
Laser Tag will be Friday, February 12 at Laser Quest in Nashville. Plan to be at the Eagle's Nest between 9:00 PM and 9:45 PM Friday. We will leave the Eagle's Nest at 10 PM sharp and return by 7:00 AM Saturday. The cost for unlimited laser tag games and pizza will be about $35 per person. If you plan to play the other arcade games or purchase soft drinks, bring extra money. You can use funds from your scout account for this activity. Guests are welcome, but they must have their parents sign a release form. Class A uniform is not required for this activity. Avoid light colored shirts that show up under black light and make it easier to spot you. We will order in pizza when we get to Nashville. A sign-up sheet is posted on the bulletin board.
