TROOP MEETINGS
Troop meetings will continue while our Philmont contingent is away. 21 scouts and 12 adults leave at 3:30 AM (not a typo!) this Sat. and we will return on July 23rd. Thom Schnell "volunteered" to be Scoutmaster while we are gone and Neal McClatchy will be Senior Patrol Leader. I'm not sure if Troop News will be published while we are gone - maybe someone else will "volunteer"!
JULY CAMP OUT
Mr. Perkins will be heading up a July camp out for those who are not going to Philmont. The date will be July 20 - 22. We made arrangements to camp at the Smyrna Air Base on Percy Priest Lake. Scouts and adults will be able to go to the National Guard's laser firing range on Sat. Just like the real thing only no bullets - should be a lot of fun. Canoes will also be available. There is a sign up sheet on the bulletin board.
JULY 4th FUND RAISER
A big Thank You to all those who helped out as well as all those who came to eat. The desserts were a big hit! Gary Wiser estimated that we served 250 people and our net profit was a little over $1,400. That'll take care of gas and then some for our Philmont trip.
GOODIES
Kathy Daniel has some new red golf shirts with the troop logo if you are interested. Belt buckles and fleece jackets are also still available.
COURT OF HONOR
The next Court of Honor will be on Monday, August 20th. Mr. Schnell will be doing Scoutmaster Conferences and there will be Boards of Review as needed.
