Here's wishing all of you a Happy New Year!

PHILMONT HIGH ADVENTURE 2010
We have a reservation in 2010 for 3 crews. (Scouts must be 14 years old by Jan 1, 2010 or complete the 8^th grade by June 2010.) We will depart Murfreesboro on July 2^nd and check in at Philmont on July 5^th.  We will depart Philmont on July 17 and return home on July 19^th. Our first payment is due to Philmont by January 31, 2009. At that time, we will need to make a decision on locking in two or three crews. If we drop a crew later on we will forfeit any payment we have made on that crew.  So think hard on whether you can make the trip. After that, we will not be able to refund your money unless someone else takes your place. You can reserve a slot by giving Mr. Holtman a deposit of $100.

LASER TAG
Laser Tag this Friday, January 2^nd at Laser Quest in Nashville. Plan to be at the Eagle's Nest between 9:00 PM and 9:45 PM Friday. We will leave the Eagle's Nest at 10 PM sharp and return by 7:00 AM Saturday.  The cost for unlimited laser tag games and pizza will be about $35 per person. If you plan to play the other arcade games or purchase soft drinks, bring extra money. You can use funds from your scout account for this activity.  Guests are welcome, but they must have their parents sign a release. Class A uniform is not required for this activity. Avoid light colored shirts that show up under black light. We will order in pizza when we get to Nashville. If you have not signed up and want to go, email Mr. Meyer at JEMLM@bellsouth.net as soon as possible.

JANUARY CAMP OUT
We will attend the District Winter Camporee at Camp Tubbs near Rock Island, TN January 9 through 11.  Meet at the Eagle's Nest at 5:00 PM on Friday, Jan. 9^th and return at 11:30 AM on Sunday.  Cost will be $15. We will cook as a troop – patrols will have cooking assignments for each meal.

ADULT CPR TRAINING
We are set up to go with American Heart Association CPR Training on January 15^th starting at 6:00 pm and lasting 2-3 hours. It will be held in the Community Wing Area (Near the office) of St. Mark's. It is for Adult Leaders and cost is $3.00 per person. A sign up sheet is located on the bulletin board.

EAGLE COURT OF HONOR
Trevor Hancock will receive his Eagle Award in a Court of Honor at 7:00 PM on Saturday, Jan. 17^th at St. Mark's.  All troop members are invited.

ADULT TRAINING AT MTSU MBU
New Leader Essentials, Leader Specific Training and Committee Training will be offered for Adult Leaders at the merit badge university while our scouts are taking merit badge classes on Saturday, February 28^th. If you are interested, see Mike Warren.
