Troop 398 News - Sept 12

EAGLE COURT OF HONOR
Patrick Sherer will receive his Eagle Award at a special court of honor which will be held in the Worship Cenrter at St. Mark's United Methodist Church this Sunday, September 14th at 2:30 PM. All troop members an their families are invited.  Patrick's mother, Claudia, is bringing a bunch of food and she's needing plenty of folks to eat it. We try to make each Eagle Court of Honor a unique and up-lifting experience. We look forward to seeing you there!

POPCORN
Mrs. Chantal Quiterio has graciously agreed to administer the Popcorn program again this year. She will give out all the order forms and literature this Monday at the Troop meeting. It is important that you come and pick up your materials so you can get started.  Popcorn orders will need to be turned in not later than October 27. Top Salesman each week will receive $25. We will announce additional sales awards on Monday night. All profits from sales will be credited to each scout's account. Your commission is 35% ($35 on each $100 of sales). Give it a good effort, and you'll be well on your way toward paying for a trip to Canada or Philmont!

FISH FRY/AUCTION FUND RAISER
Start looking for some items to bring in for the silent auction we will have in conjunction with our Fish Fry on October 11 at St. Mark's. We usually start serving at 5:00 PM and continue until we run out of fish or customers. Mr. Gieske will be coming up with some auction guidelines. All profit from the auction will go to the scouts and profit from the fish fry will go to the troop operating fund.

KEY DATES
September 20  Adult Leader cook out at Gary Whitaker's house 6:00 PM till ?? Call or email Mike Warren so we can get a count for the steaks.

September 26-28    Troop Camp out at Smyrna Airbase.  Service day on Sat. - shoreline clean-up. Canoeing and fishing.

October 2  District Roundtable for Adult Leaders and Order of the Arrow Chapter Meeting at North Blvd Church of Christ at 7:00 PM

October 11   Troop 398 Fish Fry and Silent Auction. Fish fry profits will go to the troop operating fund and Silent Auction profits go to the scouts who bring items to auction. We will announce guide lines for the Silent Auction in the near future.

October 17-19 District Camporee at Camp Percy Dempsey, Boxwell Reservation. In addition, some members of the troop will be parking cars at Webb School on Sat and Sun for the Bell Buckle Craft Fair.
