Prayers Needed
Michael Gray’s mother, Judi, has been diagnosed with cancer and is scheduled for surgery on March 11. Please keep Judi, Les and Michael in your prayers.
Tom Falana continues his treatment for cancer. He has finished his current rounds of chemo. Tests have indicated that his bone marrow is clear and he has been cleared to proceed with a bone marrow transplant in March. We really miss Tom and pray for a speedy recovery.
MTSU Merit Badge University
MTSU Merit badge University is this Saturday, Feb. 26th . Plan to arrive at the James Union Bldg. no later than 8:00 AM. Look for Mr. Horne. Parking is available at the Bell Street Parking Lot. Plan to pick up your scout shortly after 4:00 PM. Lunch at Corlew Hall is included as part of the registration fee. Meal tickets will be provided to scouts and instructors will schedule the lunch times. Mr. Horne has all the waivers in hand. Scouts must be in Class A uniform to participate (MTSU’s rule). Ideally, scouts will have read through the MB book and bring it with them. If prerequisites have not been completed, scouts will need to follow up with a troop MB counselor at our next meeting.
Cumberland Merit Badge University
This is planned for March 12th. We have an opening for Environmental Science MB if anyone wants to go.
Trail of Tears Volunteer Recognition Banquet
Time is running out for adults to sign up. You must contact Denise Forsburg at Denise.Forsberg@ocharleys.com or 491-8080 by this Saturday if you want to eat supper. The Banquet is scheduled for Saturday, March 5th at Blackman United Methodist Church. All adult leaders are encouraged to attend and enjoy the food and fellowship. Plan to arrive by 6:30 PM. The meal will be served at 7:00 PM.
The menu is grilled O’Charley’s steak with shrimp, smashed potatoes, salad, rolls and a dessert – all for only $10 per person.
Troop Elections – Note Date Change
Troop elections for Senior Patrol Leader and Patrol Leaders will now be held next Monday, February 28th.
OA Elections – Note Date Change
Order of the Arrow elections will now be held at the troop meeting on Monday, March 7th. Scouts who are First Class and have 15 nights camping in the last two years will be eligible. A list is posted on the bulletin board. Questions, see Mr. Warren.
Troop Court of Honor & Summer Camp Information Night
A troop Court of honor will be held on Monday, March 14th. After the Court of Honor, we will show the new Camp Boxwell video. Summer Camp will be from June 12th to June 18th. The fee is discounted ($185) if you register by March 28th and pay a $25 deposit. Regular fee after March 28th is $205. See Mr. Ervin as early as possible so he can get you registered for the classes you want to take – this will give you the best chance of getting your first choices of classes. We will answer all questions on March 14th, so plan to be there.
March Campout
Our March campout is scheduled for March 18 – 20. We will camp at Boxwell Reservation at Camp Beany Elam. We have reserved the Cope Rappelling Tower for Sat afternoon and Sunday morning. Fishing will also be available in the Wood Badge Pond.
